and spills aplenty at the Anderton & Rowland Fun Fair held on Tor Abbey
Meadows during the whole of August. Open from 2pm daily you can enjoy

at Babbacombe Model Village

night the Babbacombe Model Village really comes alive after dusk! New
attractions for 2014 include a 9 hole mini-golf course and a beautifully
created quaint village with colourful boats and narrow hilly streets capturing
the essence of a typical West Country Fishing Village. Make the most of your

3 Georges Marvellous
Medicine
Following the
success of last year's performance, Illyria returns to Cockington on Sunday 3rd
August with another of Roald Dahl's classic tales, Georges Marvellous Medicine.
The performance is suitable for all ages from 5 years plus with this amusing
and sometimes malicious, yet harmless story, spellbinding for everyone. It's
guaranteed to send you through the roof.
4 'Fantasy' at the
Babbacombe Theatre
Enjoy hilarious
comedy, amazing illusions and powerful vocalists every Tuesday and Wednesday
during August at the Babbacombe Theatre. A truly family show, 'Fantasy'
embraces the true essence of variety theatre, taking you back to the Land Of
Make Believe. Adults tickets £19, children £10.
5 Cockington Fayre
Wednesday 6th August
is a special day at Cockington. Come along and experience a traditional Old
English Village fair in the beautiful and historical Cockington Court, it's a
fantastic family day out with plenty for everyone to join in. Why not finish
your day with a stroll around the extensive parkland.
6 Psychic Crystal
and Healing Festival
Interested in
Crystals? Then the Grand Hotel is the place to be on 16th and 17th August. Just
£3 entry fee with psychic readings available at an extra charge.
7 Summer Evening Ghost
Tour
Not for the
fainthearted, this evening ghost tour of Kent's Cavern will definitely make you
jump! Available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during August, booking is
essential with the entire underground cave tour taking just under one hour. A
truly scary experience with characters appearing from the shadows. Not suitable
for the under 8's.
8 Coasteering
Fancy something
different? Geopark adventures at Ansty's Cove are available during August, and
involve coasteering, a thrill seeking adventure negotiating rugged coastlines,
climbing cliffs, swimming inlets, and jumping into deep water! Still
interested? Then do book ahead to ensure a place. Cost is £35 per person and
runs from 6pm to 9pm every Thursday.
9 Mini Penguin Trail
Fun for all ages,
this free mini trail of painted penguins will be on show in shop windows around
Torquay's inner harbour from the end of May until the end of September. Pick up
a trail sheet from Living Coasts or any participating business, following the
clues displayed with the penguins to spell out a phrase. Hand in your answers
at the Living Coasts and when the competition finishes the winner will receive
a Living Coasts penguin feeding experience!
10 Torbay Royal
Regatta
Come and enjoy the
'main event' on Torquay's summer calendar, the Torbay Royal Regatta. During the
week of 23rd to 27th August, not to be missed is the firework display at Corbyn
Head on the evening of Monday 25th and an aerial display over Torquay's
seafront by the Red Arrows on Wednesday 27th completing a week full of exciting
events. Other events include daily Sailing Races and on Saturday 23rd it is the
Rowing Regatta and 10k run, ideal for spectators and competitors alike.
